Michael Hawkins

MICHAEL HAWKINS is a passionate disability advocate with over 10 years of professional experience, including several years dedicated to workforce development for people with disabilities. Based in New Milford, Connecticut, Michael partners with nonprofit organizations and employers to promote inclusive hiring practices and connect individuals with disabilities to meaningful employment opportunities.

Michael’s recent work includes serving as an Operations Support Specialist with Disability Solutions, where he managed outreach efforts to disability and veteran-serving organizations, coordinated national virtual career fairs, hosted bi-monthly webinars for job seekers, and maintained a network of over 10,000 partners. His outreach played a key role in expanding employment access and fostering strong relationships between employers and the disability community.

He also participated in the Disability Belongs National Leadership Fellowship, where he focused on workforce development initiatives and led outreach to community-based nonprofits and program alumni. His work included email campaigns, data tracking, published articles, and event coordination—all aimed at strengthening national networks and collaboration within the disability advocacy space.

Earlier in his career, Michael developed a strong foundation in technology, data systems, and customer service—skills that continue to support his ability to manage projects, analyze engagement, and foster impactful partnerships.

Michael is known for his attention to detail, strong communication skills, and commitment to creating equitable access to employment. He is proficient in tools like Salesforce, Hubspot, SmartJobBoard, Google Looker Studio, and more.

Fun fact: Michael is a proud cat lover and shares his home with two cats who often make surprise appearances on Zoom calls.
